Denlow P.S. has been involved with Aim for Seva since 2005. We have been sponsoring two children every year. This year, six Grade 5 students took the initiative and organized fundraising events to raise money for Aim for Seva, with the support of Mrs. Mehrotra and Ms. Sally Bradshaw (teachers).
We had few great ideas. We held the fundraising by doing different types of days like Crazy Hair Day, special colour day and other activities like chip sales, freezies sale. We had regular announcements regarding Aim for Seva by Grade 5 students to increase awareness in school. Parents and community were informed through school newsletters and Friday Facts.
The students and the whole school were enthusiastic about it. The impact of deciding to sponsor the children in India and “People to Care for People” was very positive. We all had fun and felt that we had accomplished some good. The students and staff were very supportive and we successfully raised $ 1,000 for two children in India. Fund raising for AIM for SEVA was fun for Denlow P.S. students as the whole school participated. We look forward to sponsoring children again next year.
