The AIM Canada’s Chatralaya at the village of Moviya in Rajkot District, Gujarat, was inaugurated in October 2014. The hostel sponsors, Sam and Arti Patel, attended the ceremony. They were also accompanied by the local Panchayat Samiti as well as the Sarpanch of Moviya. Swami Nityashuddhanandji, who is overseeing the hostels at Moviya and Amreli, conducted the pooja of Rudrbhishekam with 11 “Dravyas”.
At the inauguration ceremony, Sam elaborated on the vision of AIM for SEVA Canada and all the fund raising initiatives including the Bike to Niagara Annual Charity Ride (more about this event elsewhere in this newsletter). The Sarpanch was so impressed with this cause, that he authorized a donation from the panchayat to the hostel, as well as extended full cooperation from the whole village to our hostel. Sam and Arti spent the day with all students currently residing at the hostel, as well as observed the workings of the hostel and all its facilities, including the kitchen, bathrooms and the dormitories.
They were satisfied with the Moviya project and felt happy to actually see their donated funds at work in such an exemplary and rewarding manner, providing gift of education to children.
Sam and Arti would like to thank AIM for SEVA Canada for giving them an opportunity to be able to get involved in such a noble cause.
