Energy Saving
New Solar Panels were installed at the AIM for SEVA Free Student Hostel for Boys in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh to generate power . This has helped create awareness on Solar Power not just among our students but also the villages they come from. When they go back home, they share stories with their family and friends. They tell them the concepts and benefits with respect to sustainable living, energy saving and recycling.
Making Computer Education Accessible
Cognizant Foundation supported AIM for SEVA with the construction of a computer laboratory at the Semmangudi High School in Sembangudi, Tamil Nadu. Sundaram Fasteners Ltd. and AIM for USA contributed 20 desktops along with a set of 20 chairs and desks for the students. There are 478 student enrollments in Grade 11 and 12 this year. Computer classes are part of the weekly schedule. These children come from economically deprived back- grounds with many of them being first generation learners. But that has not stopped them from aspiring high. Access to the digital world through proper computer education would help such children prepare for their life post college and provide them with better employment opportunities in future.
